Our town - Hermidale
Hermidale is a very small bush community approx 8 hours drive from Sydney and 2 hours west of Dubbo in the central west and situated on the Barrier Highway.
We were last recorded as having a population of 131 including workers employed at the local Straits Tritton Copper Mine. We are also a big farming community with the main produce being wool, cattle and cropping.
The hub of our town is our small school, the CWA ladies, post office and of course no town is without a busy hotel. We have some enthusiastic sports clubs going as well including a tennis club and gym.
Accommodation : limited rooms can be booked at the Hermidale Lodge or the Hermidale Hotel.
School: Our primary school has 11 students enrolled in 2018.

Fuel: Fuel is available from the local hotel but to be safe when outback make sure you fill up in major towns before closing time (which is often 7pm on weeknights in some towns). You can also purchase a few essential items at our friendly hotel .
Post Office: Our post office agency is open from 8.30am to 1pm Monday to Friday and closed on public holidays. Located in Nyngan Street.
Community Newsletter - the school produces a community newsletter THE HERMIDALE BUZZ that goes out once a term and can be downloaded on the side link.
Hermidale Tennis Club & Gym Fitness Centre
Memberships are due on the 1st of January every year. Please forward your membership fee to Treasurer Kerrie c/- the post office or school. You must obtain membership to use the gym facilities.
Community membership : $100 Gym membership : $200
The tennis club is used by the Bush Mobile and may also be hired for various functions. Contact Greg for information.
Gym use for non-members is $5 per visit
Please make sure you fill in the Sign-In book each time you visit.
